CEDAR CITY — A woman was seriously injured after two cars collided in an Iron County intersection Tuesday evening.

A Toyota truck was northbound on 5300 West when it attempted to turn left onto state Route 56. The Toyota turned into the path of a Dodge pickup truck that was traveling on state Route 56, Utah Highway Patrol Lt. Cameron Roden said.

An “elderly” female passenger in the Dodge truck received significant, life-threatening injuries and was transported by helicopter to a hospital. The driver was transported by ambulance for what appeared to be minor injuries, Roden said.

The driver of the Toyota was treated on scene for minor injuries.
