MURRAY — One person died Tuesday following a multivehicle crash at the intersection of 700 West and Winchester Street.
The four-car crash happened just before 11 a.m., shutting down all directions of travel while responders worked to clear the scene, said Murray Police Lt. Jake Huggard.
A woman was trapped in one of the cars, and firefighters were working to get her out, police said. The woman’s medical condition was “not looking hopeful,” according to Huggard.
Just after 5 p.m., Murray police spokeswoman Kristin Reardon confirmed “multiple people” were transported to the hospital, and one person died after arriving at the hospital. No identifying information was given about the person who died.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation. Huggard said the area was closed for a few hours.
