SPRINGDALE, Washington County — An 18-year-old woman was critically injured after being thrown from a vehicle while driving to Zion National Park Friday morning.
Three college students were driving south on I-15 near the town of Pintura on the way to Zion National Park. For an unknown reason, the vehicle veered into the median, then overcorrected, causing the car to roll several times, Washington County Sheriff’s Sgt. Lucas Alfred said.
One of the occupants was ejected from the vehicle and taken to a St. George hospital in critical condition with severe leg injuries, Alfred said. The other two occupants suffered minor injuries.
The crash is being investigated to determine what caused the driver to veer off, but speed is not considered a factor, Alfred said.
