NORTH SALT LAKE — Police are investigating a body found off the side of I-15 in Davis County on Wednesday.

About 11 a.m., a driver’s vehicle broke down on the side of I-15 near North Salt Lake. The driver abandoned the vehicle and coordinated with Utah Highway Patrol to remove it.

When the owner returned, he or she spotted what appeared to be a body between the concrete barrier and the freeway sound wall. Utah Highway Patrol troopers responded to the scene and determined it was a 73-year-old man who had died.

UHP Lt. Cameron Roden said there are no immediate signs of foul play, but the case is being investigated.

“Investigators are working to determine how the individual ended up in this location, why they were there and the cause of death. As the investigation continues, the right lane of northbound I-15 remains closed in this area,” the Department of Public Safety said.
