WEST VALLEY CITY — Prosecutors are seeking an arrest warrant for a Kearns man accused of stabbing another man multiple times, then leaving him with life-threatening injuries.

Arbiel Miguel Plasigue, 28, was charged Wednesday in 3rd District Court with aggravated assault resulting in serious injury.

On Feb. 9, West Valley police responded to a report of a stabbing at a residence. They found a 35-year-old man who had been stabbed six times. Had the responding officers not applied a tourniquet to his leg and “applied a chest seal … (the man) could have possibly bled out. These actions saved (his) life,” according to charging documents.

The man was “rushed to the hospital with life-threatening wounds,” the charges state. Witnesses identified Plasigue as the person responsible.

On Feb. 13, police were able to talk to the victim. He said he was attending a party that night when Plasigue showed up. Plasigue asked one of the victim’s friends to walk outside with him, which raised the victim’s suspicion, the charges state. The victim followed and soon found himself alone with Plasigue.

Plasigue told the man, “Seems like you guys think you have a very cool vibe,” and, “So if I wanted to beat you up right here, what do you think the rest of the group would do? Could they stop me?” according to charging documents.

The two men then got into a fight and Plasigue stabbed the victim multiple times, police say.

Plasigue later sent a text message to a friend saying he was fleeing to Las Vegas, the charges allege. Prosecutors have requested a no-bail warrant be issued for his arrest.
