MURRAY — Murray police are investigating a possible hit-and-run after two Utah Transit Authority employees were hit by a vehicle early Thursday.

According to UTA spokesman Gavin Gustafson, two UTA maintenance workers were exiting their rail vehicle near the 5900 South rail crossing at around 2 a.m. when they were hit by a vehicle traveling east.

Gustafson said the vehicle was a white SUV and the person driving it fled on foot.

Additionally, both employees were taken to the hospital, with one in critical condition and the other in serious condition, Gustafson said.

“The one that is in critical condition was rushed into surgery. I know that much. It was a life-threatening situation,” he said.
