SPRINGDALE — A recent survey of Springdale residents found they want the town to be known for its character and history, not as the parking lot for Zion National Park.
After creating a Community Identity Survey and collecting feedback, officials are now reviewing the results, Springdale Town Councilmember Kyla Topham told St. George News.
“Springdale deserves to be recognized for what makes it truly special. Our home has a story to tell, one of resilience, connection and the natural beauty that surrounds us,” Topham said. “How do we want to be recognized? What do we want others to know about who we are? Now is the time to define our town on our own terms.”
In 2024, the town participated in a well-being survey conducted by the University of Utah. Courtney Flint, a USU professor in the Department of Environment and Society and director of the Utah Wellbeing Project, told St. George News that the well-being survey was used to discover local perspectives, from rural places to larger and rapidly growing cities.
