AMERICAN FORK — Troopers have identified 17-year-old Noah Scribner as the victim of a fatal motorcycle crash that happend in American Fork Canyon on Monday afternoon.

About 2:09 p.m. Monday, Scribner was riding a motorcycle west on state Route 92 when he lost control while rounding a corner, causing him to go off the road and crash, according to Utah Highway Patrol Lt. Cameron Roden. The front wheel of the bike broke off in the crash, Roden said.

Scribner was going to be transported down the canyon via ambulance and then flown to a nearby hospital, but he died before being transported, said Roden.

A GoFundMe* account was set up to raise money for funeral costs for Scribner, who was described as “a cherished son, brother, uncle and friend who brought so much love and laughter into our lives.”

“He loved being outdoors, ballroom dancing and making everyone laugh,” the fundraiser page says. “He was preparing to graduate high school and serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.”
