MURRAY — Police have identified the woman who died after a hit-and-run last week in Murray and are searching for the two drivers involved in the accident.

About 11 p.m. on Thursday, Kimberley Jean Jespersen, 53, crossed 4500 South from State Street in the crosswalk, when she was hit by what Murray police describe as a dark hatchback car. The vehicle was turning east.

Jespersen was taken to a hospital in critical condition, where she later died.

When the traffic lights turned green, a dark-colored truck heading east on 4500 S. State entered the intersection where the car and Jespersen were. According to Murray police, the truck swerved around the car so as not to hit it but ended up hitting Jespersen.

The drivers of both vehicles left the scene after Jespersen was hit by the truck, police said.

Murray police are searching for both drivers, along with their vehicles. The truck is believed to have front-end damage.

The police department asks anyone with information about the crash to call 801-840-4000.
